About Us
Why is Alpha Grip different to other grip companies?
For a start it specialises in everything to do with the techniques of gripping. It talks and listens to the technicians about the every day problems encountered by them and the productions they are working on - problems become solutions. Much of the equipment in the market place today has been improved and modified by its founder - Eugene McDonagh.
Alpha Grip was formed by Eugene McDonagh in April 2005.
Based in Pinewood Studios, in the heart of the British Film Industry, we have all the latest grip and crane technology. We specialise in everything to do with the techniques of gripping. We listen to the technicians about every-day problems they encounter and the productions they are working on, and problems become solutions.
Apart from modular cranes - GF8 and GF16, we have the complete range of Supertechno Cranes from the T15 to the ST50. Just arrived from Technocrane is the Technodolly with precise and repeatable camera movements, the perfect tool for virtual sets and CGI.
The remote head department has the Scorpio Classic 2 and 3 axis heads, Scorpio Mini RB92 head. and the latest Scorpio Stabilised Head. The Keyhead Lite, Megamount 3 and SL Pods are recent additions.
Our grip department supply a number of different dollies including the Fisher and Chapman range. There are accessories to help you with all sorts of applications.
If there is something that you do not see in our price list, give us a call. It is quite likely that we now have it in stock.
