Introducing the Scorpio Focus System.
For the first time, precise lens focus, iris and zoom control, a speed aperture computer, and trajectory motion control are available in one easy-to-use package. The Scorpio Focus offers unprecedented range and accuracy-controlled by a computer held in he palm of your hand. The digital wireless Scorpio Focus system employs microwave technology to ensure flawless transmission. But while the Scorpio Focus delivers the ultimate in precision lens remote control, it also does much more.
Three functions. Programmed by a single touch.
The Scorpio Focus Controller serves as the system’s Programmer, offering computer menus for three separate functions. Settings are stored digitally and can be easily changed via an easy-to -use touch pad. Ergonomically designed, the unit’s focus, iris and zoom controls are easily accessible. The handset’s integrated backlit LCD screen makes frame rate, total footage and last take footage readings at a glance. Plus, there are additional outputs for separate zoom and iris controls, and a power output for an on-board witness monitor.
Lens control with unprecedented accuracy.
The Scorpio Focus offers remote lens control with greater precision and reliability than you get with conventional radio transmission. Scorpio’s 16 bit resolution allows you to manipulate focus, iris and zoom with absolute pin-point accuracy. The digital lens motors provide incredibly smooth operation.
It’s a speed aperture computer, too.
The Focus also operates as a speed aperture computer. Compatible with Arriflex and Moviecam Cameras, the Focus controls camera speed, iris & shutter angle. Ramp the camera manually or program a preset time duration and store it into the unit’s memory. So repeated shots, multiple takes and complexmove sequences are easier to nail.
Remote control rack focus & vertigo effects.
To activate the Focus’ Vertigo tracker control function, just program in a sequence of auto focus and zoom moves. Advance the dolly and the lens is automatically positioned. Repeat the same sequence as the dolly is moved forward & back to provide easy set-up of fast rack focus shots. Or program the focus and zoom with up to 60 points along the belt to create vertigo effects. For this function the Focus is equipped with a digital encoder arm, motor driver interface cable, tracking belt, and universal mounting brackets.
Super powerful motors.
Scorpio’s lightweight digital lens motors deliver more torque than other wireless control systems with three increasing power levels. They feature integral lens mount gears, and utilize the highest quality optical encoders for maximum precision.
Compatible, flexible & complete.
The Scorpio Focus System is compatible with most popular cine & digital cinematography camera & lens systems, as well as standard dollies. When operating by 2.4-2.5 Ghz microwave radio transmission, the Scorpio Focus can manipulate a camera and give readings from a distance of up to 1500 feet. Operators can check the system’s function through the Focus’ half-duplex, two-way communication. A coverage indicator on the LCD display begins to flash whenever the Controller is moved out of range. This unique feature is invaluable for crane operations where the camera is moved far away from the operator. The Scorpio Focus may also be hardwired to operate via cable. Scorpio also offers a full range of unique lens brackets—including a complete series of ultra-lightweight titanium brackets designed especially for the Steadicam. So the Scorpio Focus system is easily adaptable to most camera and lens configurations.
